About
Creating art is a very personal and therapeutic process for me. My work serves as visual interpretations of my emotional state and reflects my inner perspective at that certain point in time.
By utilising found materials and having a mixed media approach to creation, my work is a testament to trial and error and happenstance. The qualities of the Japanese aesthetic Wabi-Sabi influence my work greatly. Tactile expressions of degradation, weathering, and organic asymmetry are evident within my designs. I embrace accidental marks and irregularities, enhancing the beauty in the imperfect and incomplete.
Alongside my creative practice, I work as a freelance arts educator and dementia support worker. Working with numerous different community groups, I use my artistic background to facilitate supportive environment for varied groups, including school-children and older adults with vulnerabilities.
